Working Principle of the Cylinder-Filling Oxygen Generator
The oxygen generator's cylinder-filling system operates based on the pressure swing adsorption (PSA) principle, using zeolite molecular sieve as the adsorbent. Due to the selective adsorption characteristics of the zeolite molecular sieve, nitrogen is largely adsorbed by the sieve, while oxygen is enriched in the gas phase, achieving nitrogen-oxygen separation under the effect of pressure swing adsorption. The system employs a dual adsorption tower process: one tower adsorbs and produces oxygen, while the other undergoes desorption and regeneration. Through PLC intelligent program control, pneumatic angle seat valves open and close, enabling the two towers to alternate cycles and continuously produce high-purity oxygen.

Components of the Cylinder-Filling Oxygen Generator
1. Compressed Air Purification Unit
The compressed air provided by the air compressor first enters the compressed air purification unit. The compressed air passes through a pipeline filter to remove most oil, water, and dust, then undergoes further dehumidification via a refrigerated dryer, followed by oil and dust removal through a precision filter. It is then deeply purified by an ultra-precision filter immediately afterward. Based on system conditions, UE Gas has specially designed a compressed air oil remover to prevent potential微量 oil penetration, providing full protection for the molecular sieve. The rigorously designed air purification unit ensures the longevity of the molecular sieve. The clean air processed by this unit can be used as instrument air.
2. Air Storage Tank
The air storage tank serves to reduce airflow pulsation and act as a buffer, thereby minimizing system pressure fluctuations. It allows compressed air to flow smoothly through the compressed air purification unit, ensuring thorough removal of oil and water impurities and reducing the load on the subsequent PSA oxygen-nitrogen separation unit. Additionally, during the switching of the adsorption towers, it supplies a large volume of compressed air needed for rapid pressurization within a short time, enabling the pressure in the adsorption tower to quickly rise to the operating pressure and ensuring reliable and stable operation of the equipment.
3. Oxygen-Nitrogen Separation Unit
The adsorption towers, filled with specialized molecular sieve, consist of two units: A and B. When clean compressed air enters the inlet end of Tower A and flows through the molecular sieve toward the outlet end, nitrogen is adsorbed, and product oxygen flows out from the outlet end. After a period, the molecular sieve in Tower A becomes saturated with adsorption. At this point, Tower A automatically stops adsorbing, and compressed air flows into Tower B for nitrogen adsorption and oxygen production, while Tower A undergoes molecular sieve regeneration. Regeneration of the molecular sieve is achieved by rapidly depressurizing the adsorption tower to atmospheric pressure to remove the adsorbed nitrogen. The two towers alternate between adsorption and regeneration, completing oxygen-nitrogen separation and continuously outputting oxygen. The entire process is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC). When the oxygen purity at the outlet falls below the set value, the PLC program activates, automatically opening the vent valve to discharge non-compliant oxygen, ensuring it does not reach the point of use.
4. Oxygen Buffer Tank
The oxygen buffer tank is used to balance the pressure and purity of the oxygen separated from the nitrogen-oxygen separation system, ensuring a stable and continuous supply of oxygen. Additionally, after the adsorption towers switch operations, it partially refills the adsorption tower with its own gas, aiding in pressurization and protecting the bed layer. It plays a critical auxiliary role in the equipment's operation.
5. Oxygen Filling System
The oxygen filling system includes an oxygen balloon, oxygen booster, and oxygen filling manifold, enabling the filling of finished oxygen into steel cylinders.
